Solution Architect

Responsibilities

• Evaluates new technology and makes recommendations on technological solutions

• Provide advice and make decisions about which technologies would be suitable to use for various projects

• Provide input on system design as well as technical support for complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale applications, systems, databases and/or other technical products and services

• Enhance software and system security and efficiency

• Perform upgrades to make software and systems more secure and efficient

• Analyze current technologies used within the company and determine ways to improve

• Assess and evaluate risk as required

• Create architectural diagrams to document current and future state for systems

• Research, recommend, and integrate solutions to solve architectural and development opportunities

• Design, establish, and document team workflows, processes, and standards and procedures based on how work is accomplished

• Design and implement cloud patterns, including Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), bare metal, virtualizations, containers, and microservices/API-driven and event-driven application architectures.

• Devise and implement containerized architectures across multiple cloud platforms, including Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Demonstrate proficiency in DevOps methodologies, infrastructure as code (IaC) principles, GitOps practices, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts.

• Spearhead the development of cloud-native applications by effectively applying design patterns such as asynchronous request-response, Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS), and event-driven architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields 

• At least 5 years’ experience in software architecture design and strong in software development

• In-depth knowledge of SOA principles, patterns, and best practices

• Expertise in designing and implementing service bus solutions, including IBM WebSphere Message Broker, Oracle Message Broker, and Apache Kafka

• Strong in web technology including performance, security areas

• Knowledge in relational databases, SQL, NoSQL

• Knowledge in privacy by design, system security and software security

• Proficiency in CI/CD in multi-style such as Microservices, Monolith

• Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes

• Professional experience working with and analyzing software

• Love to learn new technology with excellent ability to adapt and learn quickly

• Professional manner and accountability for work performed

• Able to lead software development team with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills

• Experience in developing cloud applications running on AWS and GCP or Openstack
