Your Challenge

• Work closely with the business to define data use cases and own data strategy

• Define scalable, cloud-based data platform to support all data activities in the company

• Design and assure proper implementation of data governance in the company

• Assure collaboration and open data transfer between different teams and systems

• Scale and manage a team of data engineers, scientists and analysts

People Management:

• Train other members of the team how to properly organize findings and read data collected

• Ensure resolution of data conflicts between systems and within systems’ data universe

• Manage and develop the staffing of the team; champion team collaboration; monitor and develop career paths within the unit as well as make recommendations concerning employment, termination, performance evaluations, salary actions, and other personnel actions

Requirements

• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Java and Python)

• Hands-on experience with SQL database design using Hadoop or BigQuery and experience with a variety of relational, NoSQL, and cloud database technologies

• Great numerical and analytical skill

• Worked with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI

• Conceptual knowledge of data and analytics, such as dimensional modeling, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, data warehousing, structured and unstructured data.

• Demonstrable experience in building scalable data platforms including data warehousing methodology, data quality, data modeling, data governance, analytics and predictive modeling

• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in leading and mentoring technical staff in software and product developments

• Demonstrated experience translating business and technical requirements into comprehensive software solutions

• Significant experience in developing and implementing reusable data services

• Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Hive, and Pig, Cloudera, or large data warehousing initiatives ideally on AWS or AZURE

• Working knowledge of data and analytics governance frameworks, concepts, methodologies and modeling techniques

• Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around them

• Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies

• Experience working on a collaborative Agile team

• Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously

• Very strong project management skills and/or substantial exposure to project-based work structures

• Skilled proficiency in preparation of reports, presentations, summaries and analysis

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Confident in decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as needed

• Passion for innovation and “can do” attitude

• Strong work ethic; ability to work at an abstract level and gain consensus

• Attitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Open minded to new approaches of learning
